Regarding something in our contract being "in our contract forever", you may want to revise that remark. Anything can be removed either voluntarily or by force of a BK judge. More importantly however is that your union can effectively remove it by not defending the language. Would you like a few examples of that?

Carl
Well you have a good point, actually. "Forever" is a long time. Let me rephrase by saying that we worked very hard to get the ADG, and it would take quite a catastrophe to prod us to concede it away.

I will be curious as to the trip mix beginning November. I acknowledge that nothing comes for free, and it will not be the case that we will see unchanged bid packages, and miraculously all trips pay more for the same block time. However, overall I feel it is a great positive step, more than many of us realize. The provisions for dh-only duty periods, no carve out other than 0000-0200, and the full value applying to reserves are great gains.

I don't remember how many years it took. We had a rapid accrual clause that quickly brought you back up to your previous level when you called in sick. I just called in sick anytime I was sick, and that was my balance at one point.

That didn't happen during the NWA bankruptcy. That is a point I hadn't considered though.

We kept ours too and I actually don't even think it was threatened.

That's right! I almost forgot!

Now, I just hope someone from Alaska can train me on how to fly into...

You're really reaching now Lee...I mean Alan.

If the ATL based pilot is a commuter, then yes it should be considered as income because the pilot is choosing to live out of the training base, just as Lee is choosing to live outside of his work base. If this were pushed by someone at the IRS, it would be considered income.

If memory serves, this issue was starting to arise right when NATCO was closing. There was real concern about having it considered income. Might be why Delta has stopped that practice.

Your structure still looks bad Alan. In fact...nobody move. Don't even breath.

I do remember that. I also remember the usual suspects here saying that we shouldn't worry too much about those last two 3% raises because we'll be back at the table well before then and we'll get another bite at the pay apple.

Don't know about you, but that apple looks unscathed.
