Is that supposed to be fear, uncertainty, or doubt?

You must really scare easily. I never saw that.

One thing that everyone in DALPA agrees on, the more involved and engaged and fired up the line pilots are, the more powerful the negotiating committee is. The more powerful the MEC is.

We need 100% of the line pilots writing, calling and communicating with each other and management. the message must be clear that $1 billion dollar increases DOS is the minimum for a yes vote. We will not be threatened this time. We do not fear the process. We are not afraid to vote no.

We have some very brave reps taking a stand for us. Taking heat for us. Support them, they are the key to attaining our goals.

Your participation matters so much more than you can imagine. Find the emails of the negotiators and write to let them know you support them. I promise you it makes a difference.

I do it regularly, do you?

What are you doing as an individual to ensure a historic C2015? Take 5 minutes a month to pull the wagon and not just ride in it.
Excellent post Jerry.

So many guys want the egg without the chicken. For a historic contract you must have unity and show of support for the MEC and NC - it's not going to work the other way around.

Excellent advice Jerry, rip those DPA tags and lanyards off, put on your ALPA pin and lanyard and get behind your negotiators and MEC. No more division, or pilots attacking pilots.

This completely ignores what happened with C2012. Unity and pilot participation had no bearing on what happened. The NC ignored the clear demand of our reps not to sign a TA that had reduced profit sharing in it. The NC signed the TA anyway and dared our reps to vote it down. My reps clearly stated that TA 2012 did not meet the standard set forth by the pilots' survey results. Complete and total dysfunctionality within our MEC.

Again, nothing to do with unity and pilot participation. We have unity now and about the same level of participation that we always have. Will that matter to this MEC? Who knows. I think the only thing that will matter to this "union" is a serious realization that this group will stand up to the MEC's massive fear campaign and vote down a TA that is not "the best pilot contract in the world."

And if you don't rip those DPA tags off, that gives we DALPA apologists the perfect excuse as to why we failed (again) to achieve the "best pilot contract in the world."

you often make good points, but it seems like youre just as guilty of building your own set of excuses now so you can use your own opinions to prove your own points. it doesnt work like that in the real world, dpa is dead we have to be 100% behind our nc because anything less is a disservice to dal pilots

The DPA is over. They had a good run but fell short.
DALPA are the only ones still paying attention to them.
The union guys' fear of the DPA is becoming weird.

So why not rip them off? Don't give ALPA the excuse of the DPA and tell the company we are one unified voice.

I didn't read all of the preceding 300 pages and am completely new so I really haven't formed an opinion yet. I do have a question though, just how much bargaining power do we have? I think I have a basic understanding of the arguments here, but if the company makes a "good" offer that isn't up to par of what many in here are asking for, won't we just run into the same problem the AA FAs ran into where binding arbitration limits would be significantly lower than what the company is likely to offer before arbitration anyway?
