We have the best negotiating environment I've seen in 26yrs, yet there are those that appear as timid as when we were losing our shirts. Seriously, 0 debt in 2yrs... practically printing money...
I really don't understand the timidity... if not now, when? We should be shooting for the moon... or the lost decade truly was lost.
Let management/shareholders worry about themselves.
Let us concentrate on restoring this profession.

We encourage each and every pilot to review the PowerPoint presentation by NMB Chairman Linda Puchala to the MEC in January. It is posted on the Section 6 page of the Delta MEC website. What the NMB presentation tells us is that we should expect that a traditional Section 6 negotiation using traditional strategies and techniques will likely take several years. While the process might be accelerated to some degree by limiting the number of open items and operating within the NMB- defined “zone of reasonableness,” it is apparent from this presentation and the recent experience of other pilot groups locked in lengthy mediation that this type of timeline is indeed realistic when using traditional approaches.

The PowerPoint from the NMB never said anything of the sort. I studied every slide of it after DALPA posted it. After you were called out about it by numerous posters here, you back pedaled and said the NMB stated it in closed session. My reps said it didn't happen in closed session either. You then called my reps liars. Whatever.

Just to make sure the epic fail by DALPA is fully understood Carl's total compensation at the merger was 178 dollars an hour as a 747 CA plus a frozen DB plan.
Today Carl's hourly compensation rate in total is around 367 an hour plus the frozen DB. The raise over 7 years is 189 dollars an hour. You have to wonder what Carl would consider a success. The above includes the DC plan and a projected 16.5% profit sharing for 2015. The final number will probably come in above 367.

Sailing fun, I agree with you some of the time but not in this instance. The 747 2015 captain hourly rate is $270 and change in contract 2012. If you are going to compare hourly rates, then do so without fudging them. Profit sharing has nothing to do with hourly rate.

It's a reading comprehension issue.
Go back to page 27 and read it again. Use a calculator if it helps. Then, look VERY carefully at the 4th column and see if any airlines have a "YES" in that column. (Let me know if you don't understand what that "YES" means)
Same with page 34.
The best ADG (by :15).
The lowest trigger for augmentation (8 & 12). Everyone else is at 9 & 13. Those triggers mean we have to staff augmented fleets with more pilots.
