I agree it is apathy, but I disagree over why they are apathetic.

How many people do you know that have an active card on file?
Half, or close to, half of the capts I fly with are solid DPA guys...I was one, no longer, but they would rather have no union than ALPA. I think Clamp is close to correct.

Anyone know how to catch bulimia? I ate too much.

Already setting up alibis for Dalpa's C15 performance.

Tell me PG, what's your excuse for the VS JV TA? Can't blame a survey for that bomb.

We'll get 'em next time, right?

Excuse??

I haven't even seen it, and my reps haven't even voted on it.

But I trust those I elected to do the right thing. After being presented with all of the information from the Negotiating Committee, they will vote to either approve it or reject it, and that's what I elected them to do, and I'll support their decision either way.

A great new book just in time for the holidays! Pineapple Guy, the twisted mind that brought you "Commuting is a Choice," is back in rare form with "The Problem With DALPA In One Run-on Sentence!

According to you, our reps shouldn't listen to their constituent (Delta line pilots)...they should listen exclusively to the Negotiating Committee. Got it.

With that foolproof protocol, we would have been flying CDOs (against the wishes of the majority) for the past six months after the NC's abysmal failure in FAR 117 negotiations.

Q1 to them: Did you fill out a survey?

When the answer is "no" followed by an excuse, the conversation will be over as far as I'm concerned.
Absolutely! When ALPA brings us another 4/8/3/3 fully funded by concessions for C2015, it'll be because of those darn 46% non-responders. We could have achieved the greatest contract in history...if not for them.

Nice try at deflection, Carl. It won't be because of them, but if they fail to participate in the process, I have no intentions of listening to their whining.

First, they say they don't want to run for office because that's too much work.
Then, they say they don't want to go to meetings, because they're a commuter.
Now, they say they can't even bother to fill out a survey?? And they then have the nerve to complain about the result? And complain that ALPA reps don't listen to them?

Amazing.

Just like ALPA listened to the line pilot on the last survey?

I hope so! That way it'll pass 2-to-1, and the chronically disgruntled pilots will have something to squawk about for the next 3 years. Win-win!
