The only question is why you do it.

I think you guys serve a valuable purpose however. Most pilots can't imagine a law firm that would target as many line pilots and union officials as possible with either promises or threats to extract the proper behavior. Co-opting a union from the inside out is their main tactic. It just doesn't make sense to attack a union head on. It's a sure loser. Controlling a union is far more efficient and effective.

Think it can't happen again?
In 2001 the majority of Delta pilots were hired between 1985 and 2001. In 2014 the majority of Delta pilots were hired between 1985 and 2001. In 2000 Delta's load factor was about 74%, today Delta's load factor is about 84%.

I have about 500 people below me right now. A lot of Delta pilots are scheduled to retire soon and continuously for the next ten years. There is not much, if any, efficiency to be gained by putting more people in airplanes. In order for me to be furloughed Delta would have to shrink significantly, which would probably be due to a worldwide depression, or drones will have to be certified. There is absolutely nothing we could do in C2015 that would affect either of those possibilities.

I said I have not referred to you as an "operative". I said I don't even know what that means. You call me a liar and "prove" it by quoting a number of my posts...in which none do I accuse you of being an "operative".

Yikes.

Yah. 500 from the bottom of 12,000. Wow...unfortunately history wouldn't bat an eye on furloughing that pilot.

In your mind, yes there is. In your mind we could overreach and cost the company too much and cause us to go bankrupt.

Until you detoxify yourself of that management spin, fear will always rule you.

Dude, whoa. Ask the 1200+ guys that were furloughed after 9/11. Me included. We're just an Ebola cluster or terror attack away. You talk a lot of smack for a guy on probation.

No kidding. I'm not even comfortable at my current 2000 from the bottom... Airlines have furloughed above 18% before, and it will happen again.

I thought it was just me thinking this. Age-old advice of "never pass up the opportunity to keep your mouth shut" comes to mind.
