The Council 1 update jives with what I've been told- the old guard (CVG mafia, pinho, white, hardwoood...) wants to continue with their old hardheaded method of doing things, but they are no longer in the majority among the MEC, hence the gnashing of teeth the other day.

In this environment, they (we) should accept nothing less than the survey results. Not for some clowns to sell us out for political gain or to gain favor with management. If they ef' this one up, I hope dALPA is history.

I think he was appointed by the MEC Chairman, the same guy who removed one of our best negotiators.
Actually that negotiator 'resigned' when a new NC Chairman was appointed... by the MEC Chairman. Politics at it's worst.
I have emailed my ATL reps, but based on the response from the Capt. Rep, I am not hopeful. He is hung up on speed vs. quality, TVM and all that.

So with the facts, where's "politics at it's worst"? Again, shoot outside the circle, please.

BTW, who is the "CVG mafia"? Near as I can remember there's the three CVG LEC guys (where the two votes are generally split) and two CVG based committee chairs on the MEC. Also, Pinho and White haven't been around the MEC for a long time. You might need some new sources.
