An "historic--"or even an adequate--contract would not require any such hair-splitting to sell.
And Donatelli promised us "historic."

Quick question,
I had heard a story that there was a bit of a scuffle during a road show in PTC during the last contract. Someone trying to take a microphone away from someone that had the floor. Is this story true? If so, who was involved? I would LOVE for someone to try that with me!

The guy at the microphone was getting a little long winded, but nothing serious. Gold guy took exception to what he was saying. Charged him and tried to take the microphone away. Cooler heads prevailed. Gold guy hasn't been heard from since. Speaker finished up and left. Speaker showed a lot of restraint not to deck the guy.
It was pretty entertaining. I was sitting next to a former EAL/NWA guy. He was like, man are all your meetings like this? Wow.

Based upon what is being rumored, I don't think it does. Abrogate means repeal or eliminate. The way I read it, the proposal would restrict absolute seniority in some cases. I don't see that as much different than 23.P.15, or Reserve RAW scores, or Completion/Unstack mode in PBS.
That's so much better. So that really great 4 day with an island layover at the all inclusive is off limits just because it went to a LCA?
How about LCA bid last.
If we are going to restrict seniority, restrict theirs. They are getting a premium for their work and volunteered for it.

In some of the international categories there is what is called an AQFO. That stands for Airport Qualified F/O. They can fly with a Captain who has not been into a theater (PAC/SA/Africa) or into a special airport rather than have a LCA fly with him into a theater or special airport. Not sure if that is what your F4F was talking about.

Getting bought off by an AQFO has the same no recovery obligation penalties that goes with LCA buy off- though lots of times on a "domestic" rotation, the special qual is mid trip. (e.g. SJO, EGE, and so on and so forth).

23.P.15 and unstacking do not limit seniority, as far as I can see. They simply provide a was for seniority to be honored while ensuring that flying is all covered. RAW scores certainly do limit seniority as does allowing only 1 GS or IA per month until everyone else has had his shot.
