Malone declares

I keep forgetting how to drama until I read your posts.
"clock is ticking"? To what? More drama?
I'm not worried. I'm not rushed.
It's time to throw out the trash, then get it right.
But you go girl! Enjoy your drama.

Mike, I mean Dug...the next one won't have sick leave overreaches, 75% trip pulls, 1e9. Or Af/klm SKs changed to BHs. Or DCI limits lifted. Or PS ptix calculations monkeyed with. It's not just about rates.
What do you think about gloopy's plan? Or perhaps NA15's concessions are far more than you and Rich acknowledged.
You're hoping for a worse deal, aren't you?

Here is a question about OE trip pulls, if it turns out that they suck as bad as we know it will and pilots are angered and ta2018 rolls around and we want to get it back to where it is now... how much would that cost us?
I would guess, we couldn't. Which explains why they wanted. Which is why we shouldn't mess with it. Which in no way explains why dalpa championed, if not wrote it themselves like some on cc have said.

Exactly. LCA trip pulls (and sick intimidation, SKs to BHs, etc) would have been like touching trips and a fully funded pension.
Once we gave them away, the toothpaste wouldn't go back into the tube again, ever.

Are you also tireless?
Hi, I'm a rocket surgeon.
The clock is ticking because we have to go through the recall process. The reps that know they are going don't have the honor to resign.
I also believe several of the yes reps will not be recalled. I don't have a problem with each LEC doing it's business.
Btw, I'll wait as long as it takes. In the meantime, I'll set my backpack on the floor.

Anybody know if Ken Watts might run for MEC president? Not impressed by John Malone's message put out yesterday. He may well be a good man for the job but people (myself included) do not want to hear anything about (D)ALPA preservation at this time. We've seen plenty of that from the entrenched folks.
The message should have read:
"Our union is F'd up. It's gone way off track with Moakism this past decade and that influence remains via ALPA national. My priority, if elected, is to bring bottom up representation to the Delta pilot group and obtain a restorative contract. To put ALPA National on notice and let them know we intend to make some major changes in the way this organization runs."
"Keep your DPA cards on file. If the conflicts with national and our inability to change from within fail, we will keep the other option open. This is a good thing, as it keeps a healthy amount of pressure on ALPA to change."
"If I am able to right the ship at DALPA, I intend fully on implementing many of the great ideas that have come out of the DPA group including their recall system, transparent finances that greatly reduce waste, video conference meetings with chat input allowing more pilots to easily get involved without flying half way across the country....anything to improve bottom up representation. The union is here for the pilots and not the other way around."
Malone should focus on what the pilots want and it is there he will find his followers. Do not spend time telling pilots not to turn DPA cards in- an action which would bring a debate to bare allowing each side to tell us why they should be our representative body.
In all due respect Captain Malone, don't get bated in by the entrenched DALPA guys trying to define where you need to stand. Just tell us how you intend to improve a worn out organization that's proven impossible to change for some time. Remember the "house cleaning" after C2012. We ended up with the same stoners as before. Tell us why and how this time would be different. Stay off the DPA topic until you can show us a true bottom up change ALPA plan first.

Either way, I agree with the message. If he is elected, I am sure he has plans on how to change things and accomplish the goals of the MEC, and therefor the pilots. If pilots are putting in cards for the DPA, many who have self disclosed that they would actually never vote to put the DPA in, having a representation vote/battle is going to do nothing but distract from the task at hand.

What is an "MEC President"? I assume you mean "chairman."

He was not about to give the company that second pay cut (LOA51) after they had just lied to him after the FIRST pay cut (LO46) to STAY OUT OF BANKRUPTCY...and then the filed bankruptcy and stopped funding our DB plan!
When Malone was replaced by Moak, I called the DALPA office to ask why they were doing that.
The Smartest Guy in the Room, RH, told me the company HAD to have that extra 14% pay cut or they would liquidate. I said, "I hope you don't believe that nonsense!". He said, "Yes, it's true, they said so..." and he's been buying everything they've been selling ever since.
There is no love lost between JM and the Moakies, who have been in charge since then, and that was 10 year ago.
I like what John said in his FB post, about not sending in more cards at this time (and I just renewed mine when the TA came out!). We have enough on our plate right now with all the recalls, getting a new NC and Strategic Planning Committee.
Trying to run DALPA off the property at the same time will only dilute the efforts of each. We need to focus on replacing the MD11 now, and if a year from now DALPA hasn't made substantial changes, then we can replace them with DPA.

If Malone is everything the people I trust say he is, and he gets in charge, then I'll go DALPA. i'll call that plan A. Otherwise, DPA. Plan B.
I thought the chit chat notion that it was political suicide to write that FB post was silly if not disingenuous. Political suicide was putting tA2015 forward. I get what Malone is saying and I'm fine with that.
