Delta to get EMB-190's
#201
The E190 will eventually pay what it replaces. Think DC9-10. The risk is setting the E190 rate and then adding bigger E2s and calling them common type and pay. The E195 is a 132 seat airplane.

If the question is; Will military guys get out and want to fly an E190 at Delta, I would guess yes. BUT, there will be some who won't, no doubt, or they will stay in for 20+, secure their retirement, then get out at age 45 and get hired at Delta.
30 years ago the entry level position at Delta, (and every other Major) was 727 FE, on a B Scale. I know of only one guy in my Guard unit who wouldn't lower himself to apply to the Majors because he didn't want to be a Flight Engineer.
All the other Guard guys I knew then, who did lower themselves to fly FE, are all flying wide body Captain at one of the Majors now.
Think big picture here guys. You won't be stuck on the E190 forever, not with only 20 of them and with all the retirements the next 10 years.

Timbo is right: check your ego at the door. You have to get the job in the first place to ever be an OFG. I bet EM190 will be a brief and enjoyable experience. I was on alert... a long time ago... probably in the chow hall with Timbo. I was looking at airlines and one of the guys was telling me he could go to ?Air Florida? me thinks and maybe start as a Captain. I knew squat about airlines at the time, but understood seniority and I knew an airline with 15 year F/Os wasn't going to merge with "mini-me" and bring its 1 year Capt over as "MEGA-ME" Capt. I've wondered what happened to him... but not often. Merry Christmas Forum Folk!

If I was you, I'd spend more time improving your resume, and less time bloviating on the Delta forum where you are 110% irrelevant. YMMV.
