Last summer the rumor was that they were going to be training the 190's in Seattle (also heard LA once or twice). I followed up on this when the co. made the announcement they were looking for 190 schoolhouse instructors but never got an actual answer. For me living in SEA an instructor gig could be lucrative, but no way if it's ATL based. I'm sure there's more than one guy living in ATL saying something very similar about the 3-4 months a year instructors based there would have to work from SEA.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that since most instructors have a choice of which base to fly out of when they do have to fly. This may get interesting.

New hire LCA, sim instructor, Captain and FO. Delta may have to start a FAIP program.

I just went and looked at the requirements to be an instructor on the aircraft. On the Captain side you have to have at least 500 hours of PIC at Delta Air Lines. So the most junior guy that would qualify right now would be about an 07 hire. So that would put him/her at about $191/hour right now. The pay rate for the EMB 190 would be $135/hour so it would be $56/hour pay cut to be an LCA on the aircraft not counting the LCA over ride, but I know it's not enough to make up $56/hour.

Wow. Wasn't the 717 a similar problem though when it came on the property? I'm guessing you have to have 500 hours PIC to be a LCA, not a sim instructor, cause most of the sim instructors are FO's right?

Why would they be an idiot if they wanted to be on the west coast and were second or third year and thus take the highest paid seat they could get? (if it were to go to a 2nd/3rd year pilot it'd be an automatic raise)

Since I'm already on the 7ER in SEA, that is a moot point for me...

Why does that make him an idiot and you an Einstein? Were all the guys that bid left seat on Express idiots?

He can still answer the question. The same logic applies. Or maybe he believes that if nobody bids it that it will magically go away. Similar to greenslips with guys on furlough.

I considered being #2 717/B LAX and waiting for an A slot....decided to hang in the ER position and ride the seniority. After/if I get a ROR I might rethink. The 190 will HAVE to get a raise in pay or it will go to new hires.

Baja.
