I've been on the 777 a while and I have never heard any 777 pilots saying there should -not- be pay banding, or they should get more, or pizz on the junior guys, or anything like that. In fact, I think we would all love to have the 767ER pay 777 pay, and most of us would bid it, just for the better European layover cities!

We ALL would LOVE to see Delta get MORE 777's and keep the whales too. We all understand how few 'top paying jobs' we have here at DL vs AA and UAL. We have been here the longest, seen the most, lost the most money in the pay cuts and lost the most retirement money as well, with the least time remaining to make it up.

We get it. So please don't try to turn this into a 'Super Premium Guys won't like it' argument. I would fully support pay banding, especially as I watch our 747 fleet going away. I would hope you would fully support replacing my lost retirement fund.
Praise Jesus. Two bands. CA and FO.

The training churn would be large at first but mitigate as time went on...

I think the 777 would become instantly junior, just based on layovers.

QOL without having to take a paycut. How awesome would that be?

I remember back when CAL had seat pay. There was a hot rumor of a NWA/CAL merger. Senior guys at CAL were flying day turns on the DC9 while the Whale tended to go junior. There were probably some senior guys in panic mode thinking they might end up on NWAs lowest paying equipment.

One band; "Pilot".

Why should the senior guys have to put up with all that Captain crap if we are all being paid the same?

Then the senior guys can bid the right seat and just shrug their shoulders, look to the left and say,

"I don't know... why don't you ask Junior over there?"

doya think any 1970 pan am new hires wondered 'gee, is pan am a dead end career'???

this is the AIRLINE business. if anyone does not fully appreciate what meanings are conveyed in that full definition and declaration.....they cant be helped.

as i answered to the 2005 doowane worthless assertion no one ever heard of airline bankruptcires and pension failures.....to begin a thread with that notion would suggest they are either grossly misinformed, or simply havent been paying attention.

seat pay, and even pay banding.....as with the path that established a common dollar value for a day of vacation.....is the first step in devaluing, diminishing, and eventually losing the value of the craft.

So would at least a 1000 jobs. The furloughs should be short however.
