[QUOTE=Gunfighter;2136586]
If the union secures a huge contract victory for the pilots, it sends a clear message about the value of a union to the FAs. Protracted negotiations with perceived negative repercussions for the pilots serves management well in this regard. If we push hard for the FAs to unionize, the company may see value in doing everything they can to make DALPA look ineffective and undesirable. Presenting a one sided view on DeltaNet is already happening. Any final agreement will be spun as a win for everyone and not presented as a huge win for DALPA. The company is very expert at this. This is not even an issue in my mind and DALPA is already aware that "face saving" is part of the calculus. As far as the FAs and unionizing goes we basically bargain for them now. Every thing we bargain for affects what they and other employee groups eventually get. I for one would like to have to not worry about what item X will cost the other employee groups. But the most important point on this topic is this - I really don't care if the FAs unionize or not. It is called deterrence. If the company wants to drag this out ad nauseam then us helping the FAs organize should be part of their cost equation. Scoop |
I've changed my mind.
I want section 3 raises, upwards of near double digits on year 1 and then I don't care about the remaining years or remaining sections. #whateverittakes #moakforever #nevertrump #hillaryloveshuma #willingtogiveupanything #rolltide http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lq...to1_r1_400.gif |

You guys are looking into the F/As unionizing the wrong way.
Realistically, there's thousands of Delta F/As that will believe anything Delta management says. Trust me, I work with them...and I don't have a metal door separating me from them. I've even heard some say "Well if it's good for Delta then it's good for us". I'm not kidding. Those flight attendants who already want a union and have a general understanding of how things work aren't your problem. We're actually all pulling for you guys because we'd rather see you guys get the $$$ than those greedy executives at the GO that have been selling DAL stock like it's going out of style. Your problem is those ignorant anti-union flight attendants. I'm talking about the ones that comes to work and fly their 2-3 Paris trips to get out of the house and leave the kids behind that don't care about anything since the husband at home is paying all the bills. Or the 70 year old F/As that fly 2 FRA per month with their girlfriends just to go shopping. Or the 21 year olds straight out of college that don't have a clue about anything and are just lucky to have a job since they're still living at home under their parents roof. And lastly, the ones that are the biggest threat are the ones always doing those special assignments for Delta and kissing managements rear that in some cases take home 6 figure incomes (yes...some of those F/As on special assignment make over $100k per year) that just repeat what management wants them to repeat which includes disdain for the pilots for finally growing a spine and voting down a TA. The F/As I just described unfortunately make up close to 1/2 of the F/A workforce at Delta and if you ask them what scope is I guarantee you they'll pull up on google a picture of mouthwash. |
If you had sad Delta F/As would amazon or Facebook a picture of scope then I'd believe you. But google something? Seems suspicious. :D

Yes, support from the pilot group might help a little but it ultimately comes down to the F/As. As the saying goes...you can lead a horse to the water but you can't make him drink... |

Good point. Scope? Maybe i'll SnapChat it. That's the reason Delta F/As aren't unionized...IGNORANCE.

What if you clubbed the horse in the head like MSP pilots club baby seals?
