Unless the light at the end of the tunnel is a train...

Its not, in this case. We became well versed in train spotting at pinnacle/colgan/mesaba/endeavor

But who knows, it will partially depend on ultimately where they decide to put it. Recent new hires on seat lock will also be able to bid it so that might take some potential early new hire class slots.

Is the wait that backlogged now that you'd have a December class or is it an availability thing? Congrats on coming aboard!
If they really do base it in NYC I'll be very surprised if they fill all the B positions on the AE.

As a new hire trying to learn, would you mind expanding on why you think that?

Thanks!

There are a lot of folks who will not willingly go to NYC for any reason. To include a shiney pretty new jet.

If it goes to NYC, it will in large part go to new hires

Yes, he's saying that there would likely be unfilled B spots on any AE to NY in a junior narrowbody equipment that may be required to cover three airports.

And if you're coming from the military and don't comprehend why a shiny modern plane in NYC wont fill up, then you owe it to yourself to comb through threads in this forum and figure out why. There are mountains of posts which cover why NYC NB positions; both captain and FO, are scorned by the majority of DAL pilots.

I honestly wouldn't go to NYC to fly any aircraft even if they gave me 1 million a year..Only way I would go is if I was forced to go, or lose my job. I'm sure a lot of guys feel the same way.
