There are many pilots who feel that way about ATL, MSP, DTW, LAX, etc. also. NYC is a tough place for a junior NB pilot. Add a little seniority and/or move over to a WB and NYC is a whole different animal. Many of them are working for half of the $1 million* you would turn down, so I don't think you will ever be offered $1M.

And if you're coming from the military and don't comprehend why a shiny modern plane in NYC wont fill up, then you owe it to yourself to comb through threads in this forum and figure out why. There are mountains of posts which cover why NYC NB positions; both captain and FO, are scorned by the majority of DAL pilots.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something related to the new shiny aircraft, like unknown of type of flying, when training would start, typical growing planes of a new fleet, etc.

Now if you live there or can fly a wide body out of JFK, NYC isn't as bad as some think.

You must be doing great! Happy for you. I'm not in a position where I could turn down many (legal) things for that. Diapers and private school... darn kids! Although I did volunteer for NYC and won't be leaving so clearly I'm imbalanced.
