DAL Class drops

The explanation I was given was about 3 years ago, an unmarried couple got very drunk and caused a bit of a scene.
So let that be a lesson, don't get drunk at the dinner or before you know it the pilots won't be invited and it will simply become a dinner for the spouses to discuss our life insurance policy

They talked about setting up a scrimmage between the Carolina Panthers and Clemson. The Panthers refused to play a college team better paid than they were.

Wrong again. Golly folks, why is this so hard to get straight! I'll see if I can try...
Interview: Delta pays for airfare to/from ATL; interviewee pays for lodging (2 nights if you are successful).
Indoc: Delta pays for airfare to/from ATL AND lodging through indoc, roughly two weeks or so (used to be the Staybridge Suites on VA Ave. Fyi, hotel provides free breakfast, dinner and beer/wine most days of the week). They will also positive space you to/from ATL for the weekend that falls in the middle of indoc.
New Hire Dinner: Delta pays for your spouse's airfare to/from ATL. Dinner is typically during the second week of indoc so Delta is still paying for your hotel.
Post-indoc/initial aircraft training: NOW is when you're on your own. I *believe* the contract says you get PS company business travel (that you are responsible for booking yourself) to/from ATL for any break in training greater than 2 days.

"Let's set this straight... No interviewee ever has had to pay for their own airfare or hotel. The company covers that. They also cover hotel during the 2 weeks of indoc."

Someone in my class was allowed to bring their two parents to the dinner. I brought my fiancé but we had to get her own ticket.
PS to interview, hotel on your own
PS to indoc, PS back home on the weekend. hotel paid for for the two weeks.
PS to initial sim training, PS home on your breaks, housing you are on your own.
ALPA finagled a deal with the Red Lion to provide Delta new hires with decent hotel rooms for ~35 bucks per night over the course of sim training. The Mexican restaurant downstairs is delicious.
This is how it all happened when I went through a year ago.

Great post of what you get now but I don't understand why you would reply to my post as being wrong when I wasn't addressing any you said but what FangsF15 said about no interviewee ever has had to pay for their airfare or hotel during the interview. posted by FangsF15:

I really dislike that line. My regional ALPA said the same thing about absurdly low 1st-year pay (and other new hire issues). When the Company finally needed to fix it for recruitment, ALPA blocked the improvements for years trying to leverage raises for the most senior pilots.
Getting a hotel for aircraft systems training at Delta, or getting more pay for first year regional FO’s should be things that unions fight for, not ignore or even actively fight against.
