He was talking about the new hire class. Delta pays for the hotel that first two weeks.

I really dislike that line. My regional ALPA said the same thing about absurdly low 1st-year pay (and other new hire issues). When the Company finally needed to fix it for recruitment, ALPA blocked the improvements for years trying to leverage raises for the most senior pilots.

It’s very important for CRM that you share hardships with the senior pilots. What else will you talk about?

Newhires, not interviewees, and the company is covering their room.

Nice, are they doing that every week or only a couple of weeks each month?

As far as I know, barring weeks with holidays like Christmas and New Years they are doing them every week.

Agreed. While the whole time saying "we'll make it up to you later" and then doing the exact opposite?

Are we providing a paid hotel for your aircraft initial training? I remember getting a hotel paid for indoc, but not for initial training. Did we fix this?
The people really caught in the lurch are the 7 January new hires. I have a friend in that class, and they’re aircraft training footprints start Super Bowl weekend, so they have to show up at peak hotel price gouging, AND they’re on their own to find and pay for a place to stay.

Moving it back would be an option, but you could also stay 60-70 miles away and drive in for the biggest interview of your life.
