Looking for advice from current pilots...
Starting class in about a month. Trying to choose a preference between the 717, 220, 320, or the 73. Interested in opinions from each camp. Leaning towards ATL or SLC for the long term.
Specifically curious about flying qualities, upgrade times, relative ease vs difficulty in the training, and overall satisfaction with your assigned aircraft.
Thanks in advance!

Wingnut, need more info to give you the answers you desire. Do you plan on moving in base or commuting there? If moving, in what time frame? Where do you live now? How much do you value schedule control(kids, side gig, desire for seniority) Do you mind all nighters? Are you chasing higher hourly pay? Do you mind 4-5 leg days? Being detailed will get you better feedback.

also, the 320 has the highest pass rate of all the department at DL in training. Great training department.

Highest pass rate? That's a thing?

I bid 320 two years ago out of training. Have sat the reserve entire time because we stopped hiring onto it shortly after. Either 5-6am show times or 1-4pm show times. Not much in between. NYC very very few commutable trips. No newark. 1-3 legs days, very rarely 4. Mostly 2. Layovers about 60% are Austin, Boston and Florida. Have done 1 redeye. West coast US, mexico and central Canada rarely. Easiest plane I have ever flown, best training department. I studied a little bit and was made to feel way ahead of the curve. Live 1:30 from JFK and LGA. Life is good.

Completely depends on the class. Some guys put it first in hopes of getting displaced sooner rather than later, others live in Atlanta and don’t want to commute, even for a few months. I don’t think an 88 has been the class Plug for awhile.

Today, the 88 is going away and we're taking deliveries in other fleets. Who knows what the priorities and the rumors/talk will be at any class date.
