Only 180 on the category soon. I got a 3 day GS the other day, it was GS#1. After finishing duty, my phone started ringing for Gs 2.

There’s some people doing 5-7 GS this month. Last month I saw GS#9

It’s also raining premium pay on LAX717B, there was an OOB GSWC award last night. Several days of GSWC last week there, but OOB GSWC is way down the ladder.

Double pay for the first year folks is only $20/hr over a 7-year FO at straight pay... why not make it rain!?

Default Drop via email

Found out the last two classes have recieved emails a few weeks before Indoc, detailing how the last four of SSN is used, being told their drop would include NYC 717, 220, and 737, and also being told to rank order their choices via reply email.

They still find out on day one of actual Indoc, but I guess the training guys are now getting a few more weeks lead time to plug in a guy/gals name to a training slot even before Indoc actually starts.

Wondering if this is the new norm going forward.

Nice to know the options early, but I'm not sure how this new system would help much...seeing as how one no-show invalidates everyone below him or her. Does having a name actually help crew resources plot out training? Can't they just plan for cogs 1 through 20?

They’ve only done this with one class so far. It’s an experiment. They find out the drop a couple weeks early and email back with their order of preference. It’s two fold, helps new hires have time to discuss opportunities and choices with family members and takes the focus off the drop day one so they can focus on everything else without distractions. This was Brian Bolt’s wish to better the experience for new hires.

No shows are very rare to almost never inside two weeks.

They did this for my class in summer of 2014. Two guys didn’t get or see the email so they didn’t respond. When we showed up everyone had their categories assigned and those two were not happy with their assignments. ALPA got the company to rerun the bids with their inputs and they got what their seniority could hold. I think shortly after our class they went to the system they’ve been using for years of pilots at indoc picking in seniority order from a pot of planes/bases.

March 2015 Hire here. We were emailed our drop about a week before class. I think we were told the reason being was that they had some regional flows that would hold our seniority date but would not be in class. As a non-regional guy, I'm not sure how all that works.
