So putting the cart WAY before the horse: I have a bad last SS # (lower than 1200). If I were to be assigned the 88 in ATL (more than likely based on the last 5-10 drops), what is the fastest way to getting assigned something in NY (where I live)? Or would I be riding out the 88 until they are totally parked?

It's only one year if you switch to a base that doesn't have your current airplane. The cost is that you add on one more year to your new seat lock.
