DAL Class drops

After the Pan Am acquisition, we had flights to the Caribbean late at night like that. I wasn’t here but I heard we had a postal contract so we flew some red eyes all over and any pax we could put on added to the profits. The mail was paying for fuel.

Embedded redeyes with a 24 hour "rest" suck. You have to sleep twice in a single "day" and literally adjust your circadian system an entire cycle in a single day which is not biologically possible.

One of the brutal ones from a couple years ago I remember was:
Day 1: 0700 report DTW-LAX-SLC
Day 2/3: 2200 report SLC-MCO redeye.
Day 4: 0600 report MCO-ATL-FLL-DTW.
Looks fine on paper. 24ish hour layover each time. But swinging my clock twice in 4 days was tough.
