Industry Leading Work Rules
"Delta is committed to reaching a timely new agreement that is market-based, sustainable, and that also ensures Delta pilots have an industry-leading package of pay, benefits and work rules,” Morgan Durrant, a spokesman for the airline, said in an e-mail.
Industry leading work rules
FedEx vacation 6 hours per day
Delta 3:15
35 days of vacation with an additional 2:45 per day equals 96:15 more hours of vacation.
You can say I'm cherry picking.
I say work rules are quality of life. Nothing says quality of life like vacation.

NMB doesn't consider FedEx or UPS the same industry. You're free to cherry pick from AA and United contracts.
AA has 3:45 vacation I believe. Let's shoot for 4 hours. UAL tops out a 42 days of Vacation. Let's shoot for that or better.
The 330 and 765 also pay the same as the 777. Let's start a campaign for that.
Very realistic and reasonable goals.

The problem we face is the NMB views our industry as AMR, UAL and DAL. The other airlines, while employing pilots simply don't count.
What does count is the market for pilots is changing and sooner or later the company will be unable to hire the pilots they want simply because they are being hired by other "non-industry" airlines who posses market competitive contracts.

Hopefully someone well-informed is instructing all the new students at Embry-Riddle how important their cargo pilot / passenger pilot choice is in their freshman year. Wouldn't want them to waste all that training and not be ready to enter their career of choice.

Only knowledge I have of SWA vacation is the trip touching. What's their vacation accrual vs Delta? How much are they paid per day? Are they paid for trips dropped that touched?
At the C44 LEC Meeting leadership stated they are glad SWA got a deal because they were tired of management saying how much lower cost they are than us. But their deal still didn't help us nor did it hurt us.
Pay banding is the concession I'll accept in exchange for vacation on par with SWA and well below FedEx and UPS.

DALPA contract comparison shows vacation accrual and value. We are quite literally the worst.

Yeah, because we all know that this industry is rigid and never changes. Make sure kids make their decision based on the snapshot of today. Funny stuff Ted. Better advice would be to get a degree in something other than aviation related study, so that when there is a furlough and if you are caught up in it, you can actually go out and get a job to feed your family.
