Ha! Thanks, 80! I'm not used to being a "yes" guy, but I haven't seen, or heard anything, that brings me to a "no" on this one. Facts and figures matter, to this old DC9 guy.

I see you are up late. You gonna bring the 80knots late night show back?

Well hello, caller. What might be your query? Oh, hello NewK!

If (and more than likely when) I vote yes on this thing, that brings me to 50/50 yes/no over my airline career. Am I no longer a rocket surgeon?

I'm a strong facts and figures guy as well.... that led me to a no on 2012 and NA2015. It leans strongly in the other direction on this one.

Hello 80. I've never voted yes -- for a number of good reasons -- and I've always been able to specifically say why I was a "no." That is not the case here.

Don't doubt yourself, 80. I believe that anyone who came up with this motto has to be a rocket surgeon:

"Ya know, when a man works hard his entire life enduring hundreds of ladies, many of whom he does not even remember you'd like to think that at the end of the day he will be given a lot of money, without having had to earn it."

It's genius!

Ronnie, I would never waste yours or my time trying to convince you on how to vote. I think as a pilot group we sent a great message by saying no to last years t/a. I think another no on this somewhat improved t/a would be a huge mistake.

I'm not sure what the problem is. In 20 years here, even if we had verification (no matter the form) I would never once have had to do it. If I had, so F'ing what? Am I going to turn down a six figure pay increase with no noticeable concessions or impact to my day to day life, whether at work or home, because once or twice in a 30+ year career I MIGHT have to get a doctor's note? (no matter how silly that might be in the first place).

And you can call in sick a'plenty without verification, and you know it. There is this thing called a threshold you know. Reading your post you would think that the first time a guy ever called in sick he would be getting notes.

I can't take this anymore!

The company has enormous compensation increases for every pilot at this company and all I see are people griping over having to get a doc note after 100, yes 100! hours of sick time! It's ridiculous! Get an effing note! Sniffles? Get a note. Stub your toe? Get a note!

This TA alone will increase the avg DAL pilots comp over 200K over 3 years, if they ONLY fly 75 hrs/mo NOT including PS.

We must have the sickest group of pilots on earth with all the complaints about this.

Marcal, thank you! And for everyone saying we have no union, let's play a game. Go scrape a wingtip or taxi onto some grassy area. I am guessing your first call will not be to GZSG.

And Jerry's won't be to DPA. He will no doubt call the 'glee club'.

It sucks that the guy who has shoulder surgery or back surgery will burn through his threshold and have to verify illnesses for awhile. That being said, a doctor's appointment is less than $100. It's a $400 hit assuming he calls in sick 4 times. $600 if he/she goes to Urgent Care. This contract has significant raises that I do not consider self-funded. I am still voting yes for the first time. If I really believed we could do better by voting no, I would. This time I see a no vote as throwing away full retro and delaying our contract until the profits start drying up. You can work less now that you make more. That's what I plan on doing.
