I have no doubt that its a net gain for us. That's not the point. I do think we frequently undervalue the concessions.

We always hear something similar to this though. The real acid test is if this is actually true, why couldn't we give the company a 2:1 return on a nice chunk of that and "Settle" for a mere 3 Billion and give back 300 Million in exchange for no concessions: 150M in direct shareholder return and 150M to BCRF. Shirley they would jump on that? If not, why not?

I'm a solid NO vote and it's due to the fact that this TA will result in an overall reduction in our quality of life. This TA certainly will not improve our QOL, I don't even think it will maintain it, we're still moving backwards.
Passing this TA sends a very clear message to management going forward. Is all management has to do is low ball us with a TA, if we accept it great and if we don't that's fine too. Then within a year or two the pilots will accept QOL concessions just to keep up with the rest of the industry.
If we can't make improvements now, not restoration, just improvements to our quality of life now, we will more that likely continue to see our QOL decline in the future when the retirements kick in. Really hope I'm wrong on that.

I don't feel like looking up examples, but there are plenty on here that tout something as 'fact'. Your statement is just plain wrong. They might in actuality BE opinions couched as fact, but they are touted as fact. That is the real danger of social media. Things stated as 'fact' have a way of being 'fact' to those that want to believe so. Look no further than the presidential election.
True - but they are individuals. They are not "the forum." More often then not 99% of these claims are quickly challenged.
Do me a favor (this applies to everyone who posts on here) go in your bathroom, look in the mirror. That guy looking back at you - He is "the Forum" as much as anyone else.
I'm going with the Otter defense, "The issue is not whether a few posters take liberties with the truth........... they do. But you cant hold a whole Forum responsible for the postings of a few sick, perverted individuals......."
Hell - I'll just let Otter tell it:

I am not going to sit around here and read about you bad mouthing the United States of America!

First of all I don't ever recall seeing that - not even once. Can you please point out who said DAL will not meet its hiring goals this fall. I have seen guys say something like we will go to tier 2 or we may see more "No-shows" but can't meet our hiring goals? Really?
Second - The Forum does not state anything - let alone as facts. For almost every opinion on here there is a counter opinion.
Finally - If you want to look at the "general consensus" of this Forum on the big issues, while not perfect, it is pretty good.
The mood here on C-2012 was split - it passed.
The mood here on TA-15 was it sucked - it failed miserably.
The mood here on this TA is its pretty good - we will see on 01 December. FWIW - I predict a pass with close to the poll numbers on this forum.
For someone who posts on here as much as you do you sure seem to like to discredit this place.
Its not perfect but if you know of a more balance Forum - please let us know.

Define Quality of Life? I'm senior "B" in my category and I have EXCELLENT quality of life! So do others in my seniority range. Now, if you're a 2014 hire and want to hang out on the bottom of the NYC-330 category, then come on here complaining about your QOL, or lack thereof, you ain't gettin' any sympathy from me, Princess!
Typical response from a relatively senior 'Elliot' thinking 'pull up the ladder... I've got mine mentality'. The 'Yes' votes on this POS TA will be the senior pilots with only a few years remaining. Chasing the $$$ and could care less about every Delta pilots QOL... lowering the industry bar. No Vote.

Whale, I think this t/a is being received the same way from senior and junior pilots. Are you saying all the junior guys are voting no and all the senior guys are voting yes? If so, that has not been my understanding. I hear Elliot's point. It may have been a bit aggressive.

How about this for QOL. The money from this TA will allow you, as in Y O U, to drop at least one trip every other month and still make the same amount of money you, as in Y O U, do now. Tell me anything in this TA QOL wise that even marginally compares to this? And I'm being conservative when I say one trip every other month.
Not even going to respond to the rest of your post.

) who will be voting yes this time. They are more logical and much less dogmatic than I thought they were. Of course they are now being called bad names too much to their chagrin. Is this TA Nirvana? No. But it's a not a small amount of money and I don't see any change in QOL. I mean, I really don't see any change in this job neutral TA that would cause someone to work more. In fact, you could work 30% less for the same pay - as has been repeated more than once. (But of course most people won't. Irony.)
As far as lowering the industry bar goes - American, Southwest and United sure seem to like our TA. American pilots want to join ALPA, SWA almost reopened negotiations, and United pilots want their January 1 pay raise.
And finally, I have not heard a logical argument, not one, from the no crowd of what their plan is if this TA is voted down. Go back for more is all I've heard. When? 2 years. Just one problem. We already are going back for more in 2 years even if we vote yes.
