Typical response from a relatively senior 'Elliot' thinking 'pull up the ladder... I've got mine mentality'. The 'Yes' votes on this POS TA will be the senior pilots with only a few years remaining. Chasing the $$$ and could care less about every Delta pilots QOL... lowering the industry bar. No Vote.
I predict 72/28 in favor and only then because some vote no "just because." |

How about this for QOL. The money from this TA will allow you, as in Y O U, to drop at least one trip every other month and still make the same amount of money you, as in Y O U, do now. Tell me anything in this TA QOL wise that even marginally compares to this? And I'm being conservative when I say one trip every other month.
Not even going to respond to the rest of your post. Denny Looking forward to the 55hr line though. (70 hrs - 21.5% = 55 hrs) ;) Min line value??? Oh yeah, LCW still applies. |

Yup....but do some PDs on the very first pre-month PCS run and you should be able to drop below the bottom of the LCW and be all over that 55 hours like Anthony Weiner on a 15 year old Tweeter.
I'll be fine, it's going to be a lucrative summer next year with only 25% of reserve coverage due to APDs and IVDs. GS gravy train. :D 23.I.15. remains but it's now 23.I.18 so I'll cover those APD, QPD, PD and IVD hours with vacation time anyway. I'll be buying as much vacation time as possible and use it to pay back the summer drops. It has worked well. |

Ok, but that leaves January, February, April, May, September, October, and November (7 months) one can fly 10 days a month or less if you throw in vacation. Of course you could always bid vacation in some of the months you listed and do the same thing. So you end up flying 9 months out of the year at 55 hours and 3 months at 75/80ish. For the same money, not a bad lifestyle in my book.
Denny I'll admit I'm running out of CON arguments, but at least they are seeing the light of day for everyone to evaluate. The decision is probably already made but I'll wait to decide just in case there's a "November surprise." My gripes are JV production balance and its trend line, 3B4, and schedule flexibility (via LCA provisions and high summer ALVs.) Sick is probably a hassle but I've only gone over 100hrs once and it was due to state sick use for a family member and it was verified by a surgeon. |
Sounds like a great plan! I hope you can implement it as advertised. I'd be curious if you are able to do it with staffing as it currently is. I suspect you can easily do it in some months, others will take a bit of gamesmanship and yet others will be next to impossible. Good luck! :)

Denny Don't hate the playa, hate the game. I usually only do about 200hrs of block a year. I get a "normal" annual salary but not always a level paycheck month to month. Here's a little braggadocio (my new favorite word.) Recently went 52 days with 0 block and normal pay all with perfectly legit use of the PWA. QOL baby! If you got it you can always hold out for premium pay... or not. My favorite movie line is applicable if this passes and we get retro... https://youtu.be/QT9BeGNnCqw :) |

Come on. My response wasn't to infer anything about "pulling up the ladder". It was meant to highlight how worthless a buzzword/phrase Quality of Life (QOL) is and how QOL has varying definition amongst the 13,500+ pilot group. You read into my post however you please. I voted "No" last summer on POS-TA15, and will be a "yes" vote on this TA, with no regret. Good day, sir |
