Poor use of $ for sure. It’s because we’re short staffed on short call.

Lol what's LCR?? I've been on short call so long it's just a dream. A mirage in the desert.

I'm sure they are just bad at using reserves. And they're supposedly using LCR's as much as possible before hitting the scr. But who knows why they do what they do.

LCRs have to be called before SCR. That is the contractual order.

Sure. But escalating them to short call then assigning them out and backs while I'm sitting in a crash pad taking to you fine gents is especially cruel

It's been this way for at least a year with and without LC. No movement, few block hours.

My former company used us over 40 block on reserve and occasionally up to 90 credit. Reserves flew as much or more than line.

For whatever reason, reserve does not fly here much at all. Lately I've seen many FOs out of OE with no block for 3 weeks. It is not uncommon at the moment to go more than 2 weeks without a single flight. Even then it is out and back to Buffalo or overnight in Toronto. You get the last two legs of a trip that lineholders call in sick for... In the past year I have been assigned exactly one 4 day trip on reserve, no three days, a few two days. All my RAPs are normally 4 days.

After a long call is escalated to short, they are called in seniority and by the bucket system. It’s pretty simple.

Right but you would think that they would escalate once they run low on short calls. It sucks when they escalate a LCR to short while I'm on short bidding first out. Then if they assign a trip to that escalated LCR I'm still sitting around. Whereas had they not escalated that person I would potentially get the flight. That's all I'm saying

Long call folks are getting beat up... Meanwhile it took me 10 months to get off high mins.

But we don't see the BIG picture...

We are overstaffed, but a large number of reserves are dropping their entire month, and picking up flying off the tradeboard, or opentime. That's what is causing the lack of coverage on certain days. They drop because they have to sit 10 ready reserves a month otherwise, hell I would too, if I were in that position.
