Of course it is. No one has it. We don't know what effect it would have on new hires. It certainly wouldn't drive them away

But we do know the effect it would have on existing pilots. A sizeable portion of them would fervently follow cost savings measures in order to boost profits. I jump seat a LOT on Delta and the vast majority of them (in my experience) try and limit APU use, single engine taxi as much as possible, etc.

I know envoy and skywest both receive profit sharing. I'm guessing psa and Piedmont might as well. I can't imagine it's much but they do get something. Money, qol items, and career progression would probably make an impact on applications.

How unfortunate. I know NWA didn't have a four year degree requirement.

Although not exactly the same but good old nwa did the same thing. Myself and a few friends had phase one scheduled at Northwest and 911 made that get canceled. They told us a keep our nose clean and they would give us our interviews back when they started hiring. When this occurred in 07 they told myself and my friends to go pound sand since we didn't have seniority numbers.

I've been informally pulling the fos I fly with about that, and my take away is that less than 1/4 of captains actually push single-engine no Apu taxi. That's obviously anecdotal. But I can say with certainty that 100% of the first officers I've flown with in the past three months have expressed surprise when I told them no Apu taxi. not to mention I know captains who will straight up tell you that they refuse to do anything that makes their lives any more complex if it doesn't directly benefit them.

I know of one guy that happened to. Good guy, I liked him. It was a long medical issue/leave for him. I felt bad for him

Those anti authority guys are always going to find an excuse. If we got profit sharing, it wouldn't be what the Delta guys get, so he'd demand you keep the APU running. 90% of the guys I fly with take a pretty practical approach.

yea , I got stiffed by Mother D . I have a couple Associate Degrees , but not a “Bachelors” Degree. I was a 94’ Hire at Mesaba and of course have a million hours and half a million PIC . 😂😂. I was by passed in the NWA flow in 07’ because I had lost my medical for 5 months ( It was very disappointing and horrible timing) . NWA said, no worries as we will get u in class when you get your medical back and NWA did not require a 4 year degree . Most airlines back in the day did not require a 4 year . I interviewed at majors in the late 90’s that did not require a 4 year , but unfortunately I did not get hired.. But after I got my medical back , Delta had taken over and some time had passed and they agreed to take the top 100 Mesaba pilots still on the Flow list . When they started classes, Delta called me and told me I could not flow cause I did not have a 4 year . It was a cowardly move and extremely disappointing on their part . The union tried to argue on my behalf , but to no avail. I mean, I have lost 6,000 seniority numbers and tons of money .. they should instate me with seniority and back pay, 😂LOL. But I mean , really , how many pilots at NWA had a 2 year degree or no degree, that after the merger were now flying for Delta . I mean should they fire or let go of all those pilots cause they don’t have a 4 year? They could and should have let me flow . I was at the top of the flow list after the merger and was going to be the first to flow into Delta . But all the Compass and Mesaba pilots that flowed to NWA prior to the merger that did not have a 4 year should have been removed from Delta then ..I mean the whole thing is stupid as stupid does as Forrest Gump would say 😂.

You interviewed at several majors but couldn't pass the interview. Sounds to me like you want a handout.
