If you’re unhappy being an LCA (seriously I get it, the job is difficult and task saturating) then leave. Either go to AA, UA the cargos or just go back to the line as a Captain. You’ve got plenty of options If you out a little bit of effort in to getting out and LCA will counterbalance negatives in your application.

LCAs get calls from the training department all the time at every airline when they don’t sign a candidate off. Not the end of the world. I get them regularly at my AA WO. Stick to your guns and articulate a response that identifies weak areas and suggest what they need to get then fixed.

I have often thought about how valuable GOOD LCPs are to the industry. They take on a serious responsibility, but if they are good they make a huge impact upon culture. They’re basically donating their knowledge, enthusiasm and energy to the industry for its betterment.

I flew for 9E for 5 and a half years. Kept my foot on the gas the whole time. LCA, Mentor, Volunteer, FAA work, you name it. When I interviewed with Delta I felt like it went well. Lots of smiles and handshakes, at the end of the interview I showed them a Certificate given to me when I was a little kid by a Delta Captain on my first flight. I told them I wanted to be a part of a team like that, that can inspire and build people up. 5 minutes later they sent me walking down Virginia ave early.
Sentiment, work ethic, attitude, means nothing to that company when they see Endeavor on the app. They’re hiring any and everyone except you. We’re in the biggest hiring wave in history and there was no way in hell I was sticking around to add to profit sharing I don’t see, for a company that doesn’t want me, to lose 30 spots seniority a week for multiple years. Every month you stay is another 100 spots at another great company.
