Ryan Guum used to explain that a lot to people that would ask. Its the same reason why delta was almost forced to shut down Endeavor in 2015, which was the scramble in late 2014 to uneff the place.

Anyway, the pilots didnt over reach, some might argue they could have done more to stave off the end but Delta wanted too much. The closest thing was way back in the early 00s when they tried to make delta guys officially resign from delta to pick them up on furlough, but that didnt inform management on anything. Its often used by internet folk to wave their hands like management and pilots of delta together came up with reasons to end comair.

Legend you were here for Guum right?

Yes. I’ve always heard it was because of the strike of 2 plus months and Delta doesn’t forget anything.. Was a slow and gradual death of Comair.. So the over reach for them would have been asking for an integration with delta and pay they were asking for.. They got the pay and was the highest in the industry after that.. Delta over time picked them apart ..Consequences of the over reach!!

So you think they'll shutdown Endeavor because of this backpay thing? This is overeach?

The least we could do is TRY to say thank you to them.
Yeah, no. The guys who left, left under the contract as it was then. They made their decision. This is not a reasonable ask on the part of our negotiating comittee, and they should drop it.

Yea, I’m all for them getting the retro for those pilots that left but ratify our TA first and then try the other separately. I mean how far do you go back then ? Where is the line drawn ?

I wish they would fight as hard for the people on property here to get their previous airline longevity as they are for people who have already left to much better positions.

No better time then to leave than right now if we're getting retro off-property. Double dipping! Seniority number now and retro!

I wanted to say I know they are working hard for us! Also I may have contributed to some mis interpreted information from the MEC call and know things that go on behind the scenes aren’t always made public(the Negotiations process between the two parties).. This MEC is 100% for the pilots on property and I have faith the TA will be out soon.

I highly doubt the MEC will sacrifice retro for the rest of us over retro for those that left. That would be career suicide for them.
