Nobody is saying this . The point is that this Airline is a shell of itself of what it once was as a great Airline with Mesaba and the early days of Endeavor . The only fix at this point is something Delta hasn’t been willing to do that the Union suggested that they do a few years ago . The Union was right and MGT was wrong . We will see what happens . I think more egg salad and toast should fix it 😂

Long call reserve, no ready reserve, a flow to delta, amongst the highest rates around, retention bonuses, payout of sick and vacation, Delta commuting language, improved rigs coming, captain as soon as you want it, management that does listen to ALPA and tries to improve, a working union, a fleet agreement preventing whipsaw.
”Shell of itself.”
You’re so out of touch it’s not even funny. “Back at Mesaba!” You’re hankering for the days when regionals were crap, but you could fly a cool Avro and feel like a big boy. Regional flying has never been better from a compensation and QoL point of view. Look at the contract from 2014.

And... 117 rest rules, better hotels, greater per diem, food in the fridge, no Jep Charts or updates, cockpit weather, recurrent ground school at home, and the best job security I've ever seen. I'd even give management an 8, probably 9 out of 10. I think they're doing about the best they can with the tools they've got. Two thumbs up.
Assuming one eventually moves on, it's safe to say this is the second best job they'll ever have. Times weren't always good, and may not continue, but they are today.

I’m not saying to make a career at a regional, I’m saying it’s never been better to be at one. I wouldn’t expect anybody to stay with the options out there, but you’re beyond out of touch if the pay rates and contract QoL things “were better at Mesaba or the early days (BK) of Endeavor”. You need to find your inner peace dude, you spend your days whining about how bad things are, that’s no way to live. If you were hired onto the metro you’re probably single digits in seat and making 150-200k a year easy, and got a nice chunk of money for retention. Stop telling everybody and yourself it’s so bad. I made $25/hr as an FO and sat airport ready. Think newhires now have it worse? Lol
