Been there and done that...Didn't even get a T-shirt...Wait, I got one from Pinnacle and some neat coffee cups...

Saabs 10-26-2013 02:44 PM

Why hasn't shyguy posted how pinnacle is furloughing and only has 800 pilots? Or that they are being shutdown like comair? If I was expressjet I would be scared about keeping my 200s.....

80ktsClamp 10-26-2013 03:34 PM

How many 200s did they say are going to stay? Is that just reading between the lines or what?

I've tried to chase that one down but haven't found anything official.

Where are you guys seeing these memos? I am not seeing anything on Flypinnacle. I also have not seen the memo on bonuses for the performance. I wonder if they fired me and forgot to tell me.

Never mind found it

The memo states that Delta plans to keep around 100 crj 200 thought their system.

Probably 100, the other airlines 200 fleets are being shrunk to non profitability. I don't know of anyone who could do it cheaper for Delta than Pinnacle, we have no overhead, and a bad contract. Plus, it's contract time for the other airlines, and in the past that means the Delta shuffle. I have nothing official to report, but I'm watching the local news in Arkansas for a press release.

Doesn't the DALPA contract require a max cap of 125 for 50 seat RJs? If so then that pretty much spells it out. I thought SkyWest got to keep a bunch of them. The remainder has to come from somewhere. Then how is it management and ALPA convinced you the RJ2s were gone when they are now saying nah they are staying. As usual fear tactics. Comair took years to dismantle and I maintained that you could not wind down 180 airplanes in one year or less as they claimed. All those comments about already having RFPs at GoJets, SkyWest, etc to fly 9E planes were just tough talk. No way could those regionals find the pilots to fly 180 airplanes in one year or less. It wasn't feasible to remove 140 in one year to other airlines or Kingman. As for been there have the tshirt, I still have my Feb 2010 Paid in Full t-shirt. Pay to the order of Wall Street. What a joke.

None of that matters and it doesn't mean much if they want 400 newhires in 2014. With an ATP and 1500 hrs pilots would be much better off at Compass. Or 2500 hrs they can go to Virgin. Why come to a deadend regional? FOs are already leaving in massive numbers because they have no future.

The reduction of the 50-seaters is tied to the addition of 76-seaters which are tied to the delivery of the 717. End state, after all 717 deliveries, assuming Delta utilizes all of the allowed 76-seaters, there will be a cap of 125 50-seat aircraft of up to 65,000 lbs. As the 50-seaters are progressively reduced, zero future growth of that permitted aircraft type is allowed. Based on delivery schedules, the cap of 125 50-seaters would not come into play until sometime in 2015, although Delta could always reduce them ahead of schedule without restriction under the PWA.

80ktsClamp 10-26-2013 06:12 PM

Only 40 of the 70 large RJs to be allowed have been ordered. So, some additional 50 seaters on top of 125 would be allowed for now.

Bring on the whipsaw!

80ktsClamp 10-26-2013 06:35 PM

The memo reads "Delta Air Lines has now indicated that it plans to retain at least 100 CRJ-200’s in its overall Delta Connection network."

Our scope with the delivery of all 70 additional CRJ900s allows for a max of 125 50 seaters. Nothing has changed in that plan per this memo, and it has long been an appropriate educated guess that any remaining 50 seaters would be the late 9E deliveries... doled out to whoever. This is between Skywest, EV, 9E, and CHQ.

Not really anything groundbreaking or new at all other than once again trying to spin this positive.

serious question: what's the current situation at endeavor? how many pilots leaving/month? mostly FO's? Is endeavor able to cover their current flying or are they at the point where they're giving flying back because they can't staff it?
