Just bite the bullet and move on if you're an FO upgrades are not gonna happen in 2015 or anytime soon! If you're a capt enjoy being one of the highest paid FO's in the regional industry. I know it hard for 5-7 years FO's but a year more here and you could be a year closer to an upgrade anywhere else.

That makes me really uncomfortable hearing cfis getting hired and than being captain 12 months later, no experience necessary anymore to be captain apparently.

FOs now have to have 1000 SIC before they can upgrade. That's after they come in with 1500 to start with. It's been safe in the past and it's even safer now. If they can't pass training then they don't upgrade. The chances of a new CFI upgrading 1 year after joining a regional is pretty slim anyway due to the amount of hours they have to build as SIC first. I would imagine it will be closer to 2 years and even then they have to pass all the tests that a 5000 SIC hour pilot has to pass.

Tony, the rate reset is coming to you next year, and you need to match 9E on costs, during a pilot shortage, lol.

Man, I would have voted in concessions years ago if I'd have known it would cause you this much anguish!

Ok most airlines used to require a few thousand sic before upgrade anyway which is now going away, most pilots agree the atp rule doesn't mean jack as far as experience goes cause noone really cares how much Cessna 172 time you have prior to 121,and this pilot shortage is causing upgrade times to drop significantly in the future if not already. The tests you have to pass don't test experience, which is most important of all, they test memorization and how good of a gouge you have. So in reality this is in my opinion a serious safety issue moving forward in this industry, which once again goes back to poor pay and quality of life. Look at Colgan

They are probably going to hire FOs from other regionals almost at a 100%.
XJT, Envoy, SKW are not good options right now it seems
So then I am left with Mesa, PSA, Endeavor?
I'd like to know what Trans States has in mind for those 100 90 seat MRJ's before I went to one of their companies. None of the big three are going to give up scope to fly those things, that leaves them open for Code Share only. I wonder if a certain foreign scam airline will be looking for feed. Something to think about.

The MRJ is still years away, they just finished the wings. They are years away from flying it. I just wonder what they will have for a stop gap plane until this finally gets built?

You realize this place should have shut down 18 months ago right??? RA and Delta can sit and spin on the leftovers of its "Endeavor"

What happens when they tell Delta NO a second time, along with Eagle and RAH? Do they ask us to do everything, as we continue to park planes at double the rate intended from lack of staffing? The best thing that could happen is the immediate death of Endeavor. In reality all regionals need to die quicker than that Norway nonsense....( save that fest for the other thread) Ultimately there will be bigger planes but less flights... overall crew needs will stay stagnant for years to come. seats available will be stagnant... RJ's will become beer cans and larger jets will cover cities that can handle them at half the rate of the RJ.
