Barry said this about a month ago. He told our recurrent that we will shrink to around 19 planes and if hiring is strong we will expand. He said Delta had to cut more routes on the 200 than they wanted too because no other regional could take it. The best part was it was right after his performance review and it sounded like it didn’t go well. Something about them telling him a valid excuse is still not a good excuse.

All they talked about was continuing to up gage to bigger aircraft. They specifically referenced how they are parking and will continue parking 50 seaters to increase capacity by using bigger aircraft and adding seats to those aircraft.

In my opinion they only way Endeavor doesn't end up with only 81 76seaters is if Delta exercises options on more CR9's and gives them to Endeavor??
They just gave a handful to GoJets believe it or not.

Still leaves 23 on the table right? Assuming GoJet can even staff those seven planes. I've heard they are even losing junior FOs to other regionals...no longer a super quick upgrade at G7.

BW confirmed the 200's will continue to drop and then pick up in the fall. The new issue will be the training backlog, which is why they will drop down for summer, and we are losing APD's and instructors. Law of unintended consequences....however they are getting a new sim from China.

Think of the infrastructure that is being aligned to support the 200 flying. This takes time. From what I see the company IS serious about the 200 flying. Instructors and APDs are being brought over to the 200, LOAs signed to retain instructors, sim time being sought after world wide, continued effort to harmonize both 200 and 900 operations.

My little opinion is that if the Endeavor retention plan was announced sooner instead of trying to part out the remaining 200 flying to other regionals, the 200 operation wouldn't be in a crunch til the end of summer...but given all that has happened, the end of summer makes sense.

We didn't mean to imply that they came from 9E. They are going to G7 from Lufthansa Cityline. However, scope right now I believe only allows for 30 more 76 seaters. The GoJet 7 reduce the number of options left to spread around to 23 airframes. If someone else is more familiar about the scope limits with DAL on 76 seaters please correct me. And to the one who said GoJet upgrades are 18 months...that's not what I have been hearing. I heard now 2.5-3 years and this was from gojet folks (albeit before this 900 announcement).

I didn't look at it from the infrastructure point of view. I guess that makes sense now that Delta is in a bind to staff the 50 seat flying they need after they couldn't part it out to other regionals to the extent they wanted to. So assets need to be acquired/moved and that takes time. My logic was merely that summer is the busiest time so not thinking about the infrastructure issues it seemed counter intuitive.

I tried applying for sim instructor. But judging by all there Flight Ops updates and publications, they only hire Mesaba guys.
