Hired and Conditional job offers are two different things. I think Jan we had 18 new hires in class and maybe 20 in February. Those that actually show up and start class are considered hired (38). The rest just have CJ0's and haven't showed up for class yet. March does have 29 scheduled for class so if they all show up then we are around 70 hired through March, not quite 80.

Well I said "ish" because I wasn't sure. In any case it's a lot more than when they were doing the ETD interviews

Why do they need 4 900 sims for 81 aircraft?

You've hired several and that just started recently due to the TEMPORARY bonus. A ton of hiring has NOT happened. Attrition will aways occur at any airline so it has not stopped. And Delta has NOT publicly stated that they will give you WAY more than 81 planes. It's just false advertising on your part. 81 airplanes is what Delta has stated and that's all you can go off of.
You are right! 4 years IS temporary. 4 years of $20,000 is $80,000. $80,000 will buy some dudes and dudettes quite a bit of temporary fun. $80,000 with Delta world wide flight benefits with the chance to fly first class isn't too bad.

As for the fleet plan, all of the regionals at this juncture are in the same boat. They all need new hires. For instance, Camille was "replaced" from OO for her unwillingness to lower the bar as management wanted. My point is that nobody knows what will happen and the Regionals are starting to get creative/ desperate with their recruiting. If Endeavor can continue its roll on hiring (70 peeps with Meats in the seats, already this year) than the airframes will come back from the desert and the E will grow with the upgrades ramping up. However with the CJO's and the training bubble, this won't happen until later this year.

What we do know and what has been publicly stated is that Pilots at Endeavor will get $20,000 a year extra for the next 4 years. More money than any other regional. In fact, the $20k is almost what a pilot will make for a whole year at other regionals minus per diem and pickups etc. If things continue to pickup with the hiring at Endeavor, and all the improvements continue to keep coming, its a decent regional to spend some time.

PS: as for your statement: "Not One guy you've talked to has regretted leaving", well there's a certain empowerment of departure from a subpar working experience that I don't doubt exists. The last 5 years were pretty sh*tty at most regionals and 9E was some of the worst. However $20,000 a year going forward helps quite a bit for those that stayed, as does an abbreviated interview at the premier airline in the world. I would be surprised if a LOA doesn't come soon giving new hires the same abbreviated interview.

It's that wind-down plan.

I'd heard from a reasonably reliable source that 200 wind down continues down to 17 frames in August, and IF hiring keeps up as hoped/planned, 200s will start coming back in the fall. This does not make much sense to me though as flying overall winds down a bit after summer. Hmm.

Theyd never admit it, but I bet they wish theyd stayed. unless that FO knows he wouldn't pass a delta interview, then that FO regrets having left.
