No Dumb@ss..... just making a point that seniority matters from the day you are hired til the day you quit...
IF ALPA were a real union it would matter from the day you qualified til the day you retired no matter who you worked for but..... yea Air Line (puke) Pilots Association (Key word... it's NOT a union... it everyone looking out for themselves with limited self help.

I'm looking at buying an iPad Pro wifi & cell. It has a 10.5 inch screen versus the regular iPad Air 2 which has a 9.7 inch screen. Two questions, how does the reimbursement work if you want to get an iPad on your own and what are the guidelines for which version of the iPad you can purchase?
Thanks

Ask a recruiter how the iPad selection works. For the pilots that were here, you just elected if you want a company iPad or BYOD, BYOD device you are paid a monthly stipend- basically 500$ over 36 months. I imagine it will be similar to a new hire.
As far as what iPads are allowed, it's iPad Air 2 or newer/better, as long as it fits the mount. The mount is sized exactly to the iPad Air 2, without a case. So iPad Pro 12.5 inch doesn't work, the original iPad Pro 9.7 does, but the 10.5 is physically bigger than the air 2, both in width and length (if you don't believe me put on over the other in a store). The iPad Pro 10.5 will bend/break the mount in the plane.

1. Keep work and personal stuff separate
2. If you use your own and it breaks you are responsible for getting it fixed or replaced.
3. The iPad mount doesn't work with cases, so you taking it in and out will eventually scratch the sides over time. But it's the company's, not your own. Yours can stay in a case forever.
But to echo the.... The mount does not work with anything other than a 9.7" iPad.
I like the American mounts that spring load and will hold the iPad with just about any case on it.

To reiterate the above... ipad 2 or pro, 9.7". No larger is authorized in the company mount.
That being said, you can buy a ProClip mount that matches up to the airplane fixture: Heavy Duty Tilt Swivel | ProClip USA
And use whatever spring-loaded mount you wish, such as the RamTite: RAM Tab-Tite? Cradle for 10" Tablets Unpackaged - RAM-HOL-TAB6U | RAM Mounts

One more thing, I already had an iPad air 2 4g and eventually decided to use the company iPad for a couple reasons.
1. Keep work and personal stuff separate
2. If you use your own and it breaks you are responsible for getting it fixed or replaced.
