I just got done watching a few Ask Ed Anything episodes, and particularly the March 16th about the ME3. I've been following this casually I guess you could say, but his speech really was impassioned and got my attention more fully.
A couple things I found interesting, he claims JetBlue and another operator are paid off by the ME3 (I believe were his words) and that Delta is making it's own documentary on the impact of the ME3 that should come out soon. I'll be watching when it does. It's worth look at this Ask Ed Anything.

Any study suggestions for a transitioning mil guy that starts class next week? I've never flown 121 and have a few days to hit the books before class starts. I've heard from a few to just enjoy the time off but I feel like I'm wasting precious time and could be better prepared.

Really though, relax, take the time off to sort out any stuff at home so you have time at training to just focus on the work.

Nope you will learn everything in class. I wouldn't stress over it now. Just study when you get there and you will be fine. It's a lot of stuff but nothing too crazy. They will expect you to know/read Jepp charts so maybe brush up on that if you aren't familiar. Other than that, have fun.

Based off of TW's "cryptic" email it sounds like we won't be going paperless at the end of the month because there are pilot who have not activated the EFB's in their possession or they still don't have them. But at least we don't have to bring paper to recurrent anymore if our iPad is up and running... so that's nice.
