The 4yr degree was what I was referring to. I don't recall a requirement about 24mo as captain but I kinda stopped listening when I found out that you now need the degree again.

Misread on my part. Didn't know about the degree part either. Have one, but wasn't sure if it was like the original SSP.

Well.....I hope our negotiating team is working up something good to attract guys/gals here. Everyone getting nice hourly rate increases and we only have a $60,000 bonus now.... Any guess on what's coming down the pipe? Upgrade is still about 7 years?

Unless you want to stay in MSP upgrade should be around half that everywhere else in both fleets. I've heard they're telling the classes 2.5 years now but I'm trying to be realistic.. Haha.

Honestly I'd rather have a revamp of the FO pay scale (better first year, raises beyond 4 years) than an extension of the $20k bonus.

With respect to upgrade keep in mind you have a growing number of first officers with CJO's to delta that will bypass upgrades which will send upgrade time down further. Under current conditions if you were hired during 2015 you will be looking at upgrade in 2017. This is my guess based on bypassed upgrades and the growing of the 200 fleet. The big factor is if we continue to attract new hires. The more you see the faster upgrade will be. Delta wants Endeavor to work, they are getting the job done better than the rest.

I am still confused as to why FOs will bypass. Ok the very first wave of FOs makes some sense since they will not want to get stuck at 9E for a training lock but those mid way down the FO list with CJOs why would they bypass? Is it solely out of fear they feel they might fail upgrade and lose the CJO as a result?

Exactly. If you have a CJO at DL, PIC is now completely irrelevant in your life. A junior Ca on rsv paying for a Crashpad and 11days off is most likely bringing home less than a senior FO commuting in with 15-18 days off and 90hr of pay.

All the '7-8 year FOs' I spoke to are either a vacancy from upgrade (and with 15-06, probably upgrading) or Delta-bound next year.

Was there no hiring between 2011-2014 period, or have all those guys left? Big gap in the list.
