Someone posted this a while back and I think it's spot on. We are taking more 200s so we can have a pool of CL65 typed pilots. Eventually as DL doesn't want the 200s anymore, they can do one for one swaps with 700s and 900s from other certificates (probably GJS's 7s and ASA's both) and have pilots to staff them. Consolidation and regional shrinkage. Makes perfect sense with the C Series coming in the next three years. Plus absolute and total control over their wholly owned.
I've been told reliably that Delta has tried to purchase Compass twice from Trans States Holdings this year already and TSH keeps says no. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we have a clause somewhere where Delta can't actually own two regionals (to prevent the whipsaw), so we would be forced to merge. Compass is about 1/3 our size, a very young pilot group, and if you take away their American flying would be even smaller. If there was any DCI carrier you could merge with EDV, that's the one.

I don't think so. The company cant do another 3 yr stint with operational fences and 5yrs with sli fences. ASA and XJT have done everything they can to stall integration. Delta would set us on fire and whizz on the ashes if we couldn't get the "synergies" in line immediately.
The first round drove guum-ball to drink, I doubt he'd stick around for a second round of merger crap (he wasn't even here for the beginning). So we risk getting a jerk like BW back who hates all regional pilots, and that'll end this company because no one will work together.
Edv just got fixed, unless it's a pilot group like gojets with such joke contract language and a pilot group who would lay over, bend over, and beg for more, there's no merger in our future.

If you lost money going to work everyday would you keep going to work? Everything is for sale.

SkyEast is slowly becoming profitable as bad contracts expire and a few (smaller) profitable contracts have been signed.
