January Attrition Update 46 pilots resigned with an effective date in January (not including pilots who submitted their resignations in January, but are effective after January, or new-hire pilots who resign in training). Resignations include 28 captains, 11 of whom went to Delta, and 18 first officers, 4 of whom went to Delta. Pilots were also hired at American, Frontier, JetBlue, Spirit, Sun Country and United. $h*t is soon to hit the fan!

New hires beware: I hope you like min days off and not seeing your families. The mock award is showing just about everyone at min days off for March. That's 10 days for lineholders and 11 for reserves. This is due to our management not having us adequately staffed for the growth. Your QOL will not be good for the foreseeable future and you will have very little time off. Forget having a work life balance.

Contractually, reserves get 11 days off in a 28 day bid month, so that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
Are we adequately staffed? No. Is "just about everyone" at min days off? No...not even close.

I know a 28 year guy that is showing 13 days off, and not voluntarily. Most lineholders are 10-11 days off because management nearly stopped hiring for a while and now is hiring only minimally. We lost 46 last month and hired less than 40. It's not overdramatic, it's simple math. We are growing at 2-3 planes per month, but our seniority list is shrinking. It's simple math. New guys need to know the truth, not company propaganda. We are understaffed and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Unless Daddy D lets go of their big ego and starts thinking about the F word AND we significantly increase our training capacity, understaffing, credit pushes, and min days off are what the future holds.
We need 80-90 pilots per month to hire for attrition and growth. The last class had 7 people. Like I said, if you want QOL and work-life balance, do not come here.
