I'm just curious, what percent of the population naturally aren't born a male or female, and therefore would not be a lady or a gentlemen? And then the question of what percent of the population is born male or female, but do not identify themselves as a lady or gentlemen? And what percent of the population is actually offended at the term ladies and gentlemen?
Not at 9E but at my airline the emergency descent checklist has verbiage for the PA that starts with "Ladies and gentlemen...." Who would have thought something like this can actually cause Boeing to change checklist procedures? Ladies and gentlemen is a honorable, respectable phrase. "Hello everyone" sounds casual. But I don't write the check. So I'll do as I'm told.
