That’s absolutely untrue.

50 seaters gone next year across the board according to Delta Town Hall. And Delta hiring to slow down next summer.

When Delta is getting rid of the 200s and shrinking the airline, why would they give us anything? They're saving tens of millions of dollars every month by not giving us a raise. The reality is they don't have to right now. They won't until the market forces them to. Then they'll run around with their hair on fire looking for an extinguisher.

The reality is there is no reason to apply or stay here unless you REALLY like flying NYC for 70% less than your regional peers. Positive space will be gone in a month, so commuting will suck even worse than it does now. Who knows , maybe new hires like ice cream and mystery meat.

Right, but that’s not shrinking by any means.
Any staffing projections are a guess at this point. If regionals shrink further, that gets offset at mainline=more mainline jobs. All the previously forecasted mainline aircraft retirements have been adjusted, which nets more hulls in the short to medium term now.

Lol. Not sure many “other majors” have been hiring 200+ a month for a year. We are cutting back, yes but it’ll be on pace with every other airline. Nice chicken little theory though.

UAL has been for over a year now, and they say that they plan to continue that pace until 2028. American has been going that or better since March, and had indicated that will continue through at least 2025. If you don't think UA and AA count as majors then maybe cut back on the Delta Dust (kool-aid) a bit... 🤣

If you add up UAL's hiring targets over the next decade it totals about 15,000 vs. about 5,000 for Delta near as I can tell. That's a lot more people coming in below me if I can get to UAL than is have at DL...

UA has been doing weekly classes of 60-75 for the last several months. So yeah, they ARE indeed hiring 200+ a month. But yeah, if Daddy D is your goal and plan to go there between tomorrow and before the decade is over, prepare to be a career first officer and at best a NB CA, that’s all your seniority is gonna get you.

People are upgrading on the 737 and 220 inside a year right now in NY.
