Two more questions for those in training or in the know:

Do you find out your sim schedule before you start class or during class?

Is there any backlog or delay in going to the sim after ground?

And you can spin that how you want... Why the junior guys (new hires bidding for the first time...ehem), for full commutability and an extra day off in NYC (where the complaints seem to be) is beyond me. It's simple. Go online, fill out the form, high likelihood of the 4th off, plus other weekends, commute in day of, out last day in the am....if p3 last day you go home and are simply contactable for the next string... Meaning most of last day off plus as you should be home mid day a day prior. With some trips already reassigned to start. Beats the heck out of reserve. Day flying? Sure, that's an automatic 200% over guarantee. But no, nobody is interested. *hands in the air*

Not sure what is missing here. But hey, you can lead the horse to water, can't make it drink.
Mr. Higney I used to bid CNO a bunch...now with the Canada CDOs even with the closer hotels the layovers are still too short. I did one YYZ this month after a stretch of P2...no way am I intentionally subjecting myself to possibly doing 4 in a row on those (some CNO guys got that). It's still ok for commuters, if you are able to nap during the day...I have trouble with that.

NY on the Captain side isn't junior. Unfortunately it's not all good news at all. In June...there will be 10 year guys on XJ side going back on reserve. Yes things have improved, but QOL hasn't . I don't agree with the quick upgrade mentality going around, but we shall see. Those are just the facts

Because where you came from does have an effect on what you can currently hold. Sorry, but that's the reality.

I just talked to some newhires outside of the schoolhouse and they said many MONTHS delay between groundschool and sim.

Thats while getting fully paid too, so take those flight bennies and go travel the world!

And generally sim schedules are learned after class has begun.

By looking at trim, it looks like for this last round of peeps waited max 3 weeks between ground school and FTD/sims on the 200. Some started 3 days after.

I think it's a valid point, and should be brought up even though it's water under the bridge. Bringing up schedule and seniority for people who are interested.
