I'm just a company pilot, not management.

Those are my opinions after a short 9 years in the regional industry.

People keep asking "Can I expect XXX base out of training?". As always, it depends on company needs. But here's some numbers from the February classes that might give you an idea what to expect. (Note: all 8 MSP choices were awarded to the first classes of 31; the last batch of 25 had zero MSP awards)

MSP 200 - 3
DTW 200 - 27
MSP 900 - 5
DTW 900 - 5
JFK 900 - 6
LGA 900 - 10

27 people got their first choice.
3 got their last choice.

This is from a post in Jan based off the prior seniority list. This current upgrade award went within a few seniority numbers of hitting 2010 hires. If we still have at least 150 upgrades to award this year, there are 105 FO's spanning all of 2010-2014. So unless 50 who have bypassed decide to jump into the mix, it will go to 2015 hires before the end of the year. Over 200 pilots will be leaving next year just to delta plus other companies. 2016 pilots will upgrade in 2017. With no additional growth.

FO's at 9E

I find it interesting how nobody seems to talk about the guys/gals that are upgrading now and leaving to Delta in 6 months....

I thought to move over to Delta you had to spend 2 years in the left seat?

For new hires today, under DGI, this is true. But not under previous award agreements.

HA, this list makes me chuckle. I am a 2011 hire, but thanks to military leave for 3 years and a year of sitting reserve, as of now I need 700 hours of 121 before I upgrade. Add to the fact that I will be on military leave for 6-9 months starting this summer for AC upgrade I guess I will have to be super FO for most of 2017 before I upgrade...

Such is life...
