Those vacancies in LGA/JFK 200 need to be offered to the current pilot group first in case anyone wants those positions who is already on the line. When the vacancy award process is over, any unfilled positions can be bid on and given to new hires. So I'd expect to see new hires getting LGA and JFK 200 starting next month.

The positions just announced in LGA and JFK are mostly new (CRJ200) they need to be offered to current pilots before being assigned to new hires. If 9E functions the way my previous carrier did (not sure of it does, the past 8 years haven't given me reason to pay attention to that portion of the contract) then any vacancy would be offered to current pilots and the leftovers are given to new hires.

Correct me if im wrong. Vacancy's are awarded in seniority from top to
bottom. So new hires would get last pick of open spots.

If they are backfilling the captain upgrades then most upgraded fo's were based in DTW or MSP so theres the openings for now.

Crew planning has a pretty good idea of who wants to go where based on the pref bids. But yes, they are awarded based on seniority. New hires would make up the difference for FO positions

Thanks for the info slowyourroll and pa28dakota. I interview on the 18th and if offered a position I'll more than likely be going into the may 9th class.

Hello everyone! I've been with the company just less than a year and I just heard about this forum yesterday from my captain. I've read back over the last few days of posts and I like all the good gouge you guys are putting out. I do have one question and would love your opinions and info about the delta interview programs. I was hired after SSP and before the DGI and I can't get a straight answer out of the company. Do my classmates and I fall under the DGI program like the people that got hired after us? Is that just retroactive for us? Thanks in advance for your time and consideration!

As far as I know, the group of guys that are in your category have nothing, as of the current moment.

Call your union rep and let them know you want something done.

I talked to one in the crewroom the other day and he said, "just be happy with the $23000." I think he meant the bonus that everyone gets, but I wasn't sure what he meant because everyone gets that. He made it sound like it was special for us. It really didn't make any sense and I didn't want to waste my time explaining basic English to him, so I just discounted what he was saying as BS.
