It seems right now if you want DTW, you'll get it. Or if you would rather have LGA or JFK, you'll get it. MSP is the hard one to get right now.

thoughts on latest "ask ED anything"??...where he finally addresses the c series 100 usage. He says not a MD-88 replacement, but a replacement for more 50 seaters but also 70 seaters...someone is going to lose out.

I'm in class with you and at the ripe old age of 45, I am also looking for DTW, but I prefer the -900 for the longer legs. I don't mind being on reserve a lot longer than the -200 guys since I will live in base. See ya next month.

Speculation: I think that 50 seat flying will move to 9E exclusively before it goes away entirely. That will probably take about 5-8 years to accomplish completely. As for 70 seat flying I think that's a toss up. 9E being absorbed by Delta is, frankly, a fantasy. I could see 9E moving into the 100 seat market but I don't see them going away and there is a demand at spoke airports for small regional jets. IMHO 70 seat flying is going to be around for many years to come and so is Endeavor.

I think it's a canned answer. Delta has always wanted to move away from 50 seat flying and I can understand why. 9E is the only one pulling 50 seaters out of the desert while other regionals are starting to put theirs away.

Aside from this fantastical speculation, your last statement is very true IMHO.

We will all be stapled before that will happen.
Delta pilots will say NO to score relaxation. And they should. Let's be honest - the 76 seaters belong at mainline in the first place.
We as a profession cannot make the mistake that the baby boomers have made.
NO MORE RJs!
