Well, feel free to go, we will move up more quickly. ;)
J/K, no we need you. And that is why I personally would love to see the bonuses go away and prefer a pay hike across the board, equal to what we are making today, or higher (preferably, and by the time it happens, possible, I think). I mean, bonuses are nice, but who the heck wants to take a pay cut their second year? And what pilot already on property wants to see a new hire making $5-20K more than they did just a few months or years ago? Give us a pay rate that makes us competitive, preferably industry-leading, like $73 an hour for a FYFO and $103 for a FYCA. Then, if you want to be able to affect hiring, authorize a bonus on top of that basic pay rate for all. Will it happen? Probably not. Once can dream. But I know for DARN sure those above us will never just give it to us unless we ask for it. Quote:

Any one out here trying to help me out with procedures and some info on how you prepped for FTD? Besides the "know your flows and limitations" idea. Like does any one have an organized list of FFOD and procedures they could help out with or email or anything. Im kind of struggling with gathering it all together since its scattered, if you know what i mean. Please and Thanks.

Start off with this it will get you ready to push back from the gate: (assume all your FTD and sim sessions are FFOD) showing up to a cold dark cockpit need to do the following to get the aircraft powered up: CFM 3-25 Interior inspection* CFM 4-13 *Electrical power up (apu or ground power) (dont forget to read notes about apu fire check and battery level to start) CFM 3-27 Exterior inspection (might not need for sim bus still part of procedure) once those are done need to check certain things on your side of the cockpit: CFM 3-41 CA preflight (not really necessary but CA has certain things to check) CFM 3-44 FO preflight then, depending who is PM or PF you have a few more things to do: CFM 3-32 PF procedure (pretty much programming FMS) CFM 3-35 PM procedure (where all the FFOD are and configuring the panel) (most of the FFOD proceudres are in chapter 4) after all that is done do the (CFM 7-11) clearance verification and (FOM 8-67) departure brief (WARTS). for the FTD not too many emergency procedures will be introduced but you should be able to go from a cold-dark cockpit, takeoff, cruise, shoot an ils, taxi to the gate, and shut down. once you can do that you will be fine in the FTD. its been a while but i believe the first FTD lesson was just from powerup to takeoff. every lesson becomes further and further into a flight till at the last FTD lesson its an entire flight. i agree everything is all over the place but you have to dig for it. A couple of other things that are annoying: The departure and arrival briefs are in the FOM starting on page 8-67 flap retraction speeds on 7-20 alot of additional procedures are in chapter 4 of the CFM Feel free to PM me if you have a question or need help. |
