Well, to YOU the LOA wasn't a big deal. To me however, if it allows for west coast bases to open or even better, one in PHX, that would be a huge QOL improvement for me. In addition, it would most likely equate to more aircraft which is good for everyone. Faster upgrades, more new hires etc.
Not everything comes down to pay and pay isn't always about the short term. There is value in upgrading quicker, flowing quicker, getting TPIC quicker beyond just the per hour dollar amount.
When you say small percentage of our pilot group, do you stop to think about how many people were thrilled to get Miami back? I understand that was once a base, but it shows that people live all over and having bases open is a good thing. Thats my opinion though your free to your own.

He said himself we can barely hire to cover attrition. How are we going to add planes without messing with the pilots? Or qol? I don't see how we can add more bases without adding more than 100 total guys a year. What is the over/under on dfw looking like ord when mia opens? Hopefully enough guys bid for it so there aren't forced tdy's forever.

One reason: QoL is worse when staffing levels are lower. During our recent growth we have had periods of pretty terrible staffing levels, awful 4 on/2 off lines, frequent JMs. Our management has shown a willingness to accept flying that we can't actually staff until months later, despite what our contract says.

As a junior FO and after the reserve period, would it be possible to get days off in a row like six or seven at some point during the month rather than doing 4on/2off, 4on/2off thru the whole month?
As far as you can tell is it possible to pick up dropped time and extra trips to get 100 hours of credit at all?
I would like to be based in DFW (Im 40, ATP, 8000TT, mostly turbine) would it be realistic for me to expect DFW in the 175?
Thanks so much for your time.

Thank yo so much for posting that sample schedule. Im applying to Envoy and I have a few questions that you may be able to answer for me please.
As a junior FO and after the reserve period, would it be possible to get days off in a row like six or seven at some point during the month rather than doing 4on/2off, 4on/2off thru the whole month?- As a junior FO, it would be difficult at best. Being junior, you'll be looking at lines with 11 or 12 days off. Even with trip trading, with so few days off it'd be hard to line up that many days off. You probably could line up 5+ days off in a row, but at the expense of having 1 day off in between trips the rest of the month.
As far as you can tell is it possible to pick up dropped time and extra trips to get 100 hours of credit at all?-Yes, if you're willing to work OT it's definitely possible to credit 100 hours or more
I would like to be based in DFW (Im 40, ATP, 8000TT, mostly turbine) would it be realistic for me to expect DFW in the 175? DFW 175 FO is well staffed at this point in time. They've still been hiring into it, but I would imagine that's going to stop any second now. Plan to see a lot of hiring into the 175 in ORD.
Thanks so much for your time.

It's over 8 years at the point for a new hire. We've been hiring such big classes, that the flow time gets longer ever month for a new hire. The only thing that could shorten the flow time is if we start sending more flows per month than the bare minimum contractually require (more than likely not going to happen) or attrition to other airlines (unpredictable, but attrition should pick up in the next couple of years).
