Just heard TSA passed their PBS with some QOL improvements that included a 4.25 min day. If they can get these type of improvements why can't our union negotiate the same?.....oh yea that is because we are to busy negotiating "satellite bases that benefit the company and only a small percentage of our pilot group.

In exchange for....... oh yea. Nothing. In exchange for a promise and a pinky swear they'll come back and talk RSV improvement. Laughable.

Well, to YOU the LOA wasn't a big deal. To me however, if it allows for west coast bases to open or even better, one in PHX, that would be a huge QOL improvement for me. In addition, it would most likely equate to more aircraft which is good for everyone. Faster upgrades, more new hires etc.

Not everything comes down to pay and pay isn't always about the short term. There is value in upgrading quicker, flowing quicker, getting TPIC quicker beyond just the per hour dollar amount.

When you say small percentage of our pilot group, do you stop to think about how many people were thrilled to get Miami back? I understand that was once a base, but it shows that people live all over and having bases open is a good thing. Thats my opinion though your free to your own.

Well my opinion is that they had a LAX base before and they could certainly reopen it if they wanted to without this new agreement. MIA and LGA(NY) coming back had nothing to do with this agreement. It was a mistake for them to close them in the first place and proof to me that they did it out of pure spite. You are delusional to be excited at the THOUGHT of a PHX base. It is also a mistake to believe that you will flow sooner with this new agreement. I am on the side that they should fix rsv and qol issues before they negotiate anything else.

More airplanes means quick upgrades but possibly longer flow because those airplanes have to be staffed. I don't want more airplanes or more desirable overnights. I want to be properly staffed so my flow date isn't postponed. Sure, a lot of our overnights suck and commuting sucks for the guys that do it, but no matter what they do here, QOL will never be as good as it is at mainline. I'm not suggesting that we settle for the way things are now, but there are many other ways to improve QOL besides opening bases with the same crappy schedules for a small QOL improvement.

Your ignoring the people who have seen this song and dance before. Your going to get many more tdys to places like PHL and DCA, not a PHX base. Hope the union donuts in the crew room made up for the future.

Much the opposite actually. I understand there have been wrongs done in the past and am not naive enough to believe they can't happen in the future. What I am confident about though is the strength of the demand for pilots and the need from AA to keep the flow going. The second Envoy can't keep pilots or gain new ones, the flow slows and that is bad news for AA. If Envoy starts messing with things to bad, people will stop coming.

Time will tell.
