Unless they can get the flow to about 4 years or less, it really isn't a selling point. They figured this out when FO bonuses and pay rate increases came about. The flow mostly benefits the company, because they get maxed out captains off their payroll.

It also benefits them to have a high percentage of the attrition at a controlled and mostly predictable rate. It is definitely a benefit to pilots as well.

I don't think anyone implied that there is a disadvantage to the pilots. But, the company would have no reason to do it unless there was a financial advantage to them. Potential recruits need to understand this when it's pitched to them by recruiters.
