I am currently contracting overseas. However I interviewed last month and am anxious to get started. I am considering a class date in April. My wife is pregnant with a due date in early June.
What is Envoy's paternity leave policy or vacation policy or even perhaps leave of absence policy for the birth of child for someone in Indoc or perhaps IOE?
Thanks!

Good luck and don’t listen to recruitment. You’re better off waiting until baby is here. There is a FO currently employeed here that’s less than a year on property have issues getting time off for his own wedding. He knew it would be sometime during training, and told recruitment. They claimed it’d be no issue. When it was time to get his time off it took an army and threatening to quit to be able to attend his own wedding.
Plus training is packed to the gills. And leaving and coming back could have a negative impact on your training footprint. Like repeating stuff you’ve already completed.

Let's just say there isn't a policy. I was in a similar position you were in and had absolutely no issues. I was still on probation and in training and the guy in training asked me how long off I wanted. I answered and it was granted.
My suggestion is to email the question to recruiters. Get an answer from them. Take it with a gain of salt but at least it shows you made them aware of your situation and you were trying to be proactive about it.
Unfortunately my guess is you would likely face a situation similar to the first guy that responded.

I’d say recruiters are very clear about choosing what’s most important...seniority vs. guaranteed availability for a special event. It would be best if the choice wasn’t necessary, but it appears that it is.
It’s hilarious how everyone on the forums act like recruiters earn a commission or something for getting people in the door. News flash, recruiters get no special incentive for lying to people to get them in the door. If anything, I’d say most of Envoy’s recruiters are wary about who they let in the door in the first place. You’d be amazed at the number of people who are “shocked” that they are either not selected to interview, or are not hired during the process (perhaps thinking that fogging a mirror gets you in). Maybe stopping by there and getting to know a few of the recruiters would put to rest the crazy myths.

Training does not like to interrupt your / their schedule. But if you absolutely HAVE to have time off for something extremely urgent (you're deathly ill, or a family emergency), then they will gladly work with you to get you the time you need, and get you back into the training pipeline. However, if it was a pre-planned event ie vacation, wedding, ect. then they'll be probably be less likely to work with you on that. "You knew you had an event but elected to start training anyway". They'll say, "That's not their problem, you should have planned better". As far as maternity leave, you'll have to talk to the training scheduler. She will be able to steer you straight, better than recruiting can.
If you do get unscheduled time off during training, BE VERY CAREFUL! You're still on company time, getting company benefits, and restricted to company policies. What that means is, you get 24/7 per-diem while in training. If you take unscheduled time off, that per-diem is supposed to stop. But pay-comp doesn't always know the situation, and will continue to pay it. Also, if your benefits have kicked in, and you're not in training for a specific amount of time, instead of getting a paycheck, you may very well end up owing the company money back. If you use company passes to travel while taking unscheduled time off, you'll have to have permission to make the company travel.
