Yes, but what guys are saying in regards to LGA is that they have to have a need to displace out of LGA. And since that place is the bottom of the bottom, you can bet money that the displacements will be TO LGA not FROM LGA.

How can they not displace you if the displacement is off of seniority..
For example CRJ goes unfilled the displacement goes in seniority order based off of displacement preferences.
There for, they would have to displace you before displacing someone junior to you assuming LGA wasn’t higher in your displacement preferences.

Also since displacement is bad they displace in reverse seniority. They do accept proffer to displace in seniority order.
If you want out of LGA into ORD CRJ then preference bid back to FO and the displace to ORD CRJ. You can still bid FO if you haven't finished fed ride. Sounds like you have finished though.

So this isn't a displacement. The last two bids haven't been a TRUE displacement. If a TRUE displacement occurred then you could hold your seniority. But since this a forced upgrade then the normal rules of displacement are thrown out.

Yes I have finished.
I was awarded Miami on the prelim last bid, (I was done with my fed ride at the time) then on the final was “Displaced/NEB” how is that an upgrade and not a displacement?
All these problems for me would have been solved if they gave me the TFY rights. I could live with LGa with a positive space seat and hotels.

Does that make sense? In a true displacement a base/seat/equipment is reduced in size. Those pilots are the only displaced pilots. They choose where the want to go if they are senior enough to hold it. If the displaced pilot chooses an already filled vacancy then other pilots in that position get displaced as well. (This is essentially what happened to you. You were kicked out of base by a pilot more senior to you, who was forced to upgrade.).

Well, in a TRUE displacement you could of held Miami as an FO. Since it was a sham displacement you were only limited to CA position to displace into.

Yes that makes sense. Thanks for the clarity!
